Rough Shoots

Shoot: Rough Shoot on hillside, steep but productive.

An small hillside piece of land of 113 acres there is potential being explored to put together a  sizeable area as a shoot, this is hill farm land inland of Trefor in Caernarfon Bay. Nearest large town being Porthmadog.

roughshoot_trefor_01.jpgThere are wild pheasant here, plenty of hare and rabbits, partridge, good snipe, and some grouse, comprised of small fields with hedges and ditches and some marsh which attract snipe there is the chance we have a further 570 acres gained see shoot 2 here with Woodland and pools for wildfowl.

  • Pheasant: October 1st – February 1st.
  • Partridge: September 1st – February 1st.
  • Pigeon: No closed season.
  • Mallard: (inland) September 1st – January 31st.
  • Snipe: October 1st – January 31st.
  • Woodcock: October 1st – January 31st.
  • Hare: No Season.
  • Rabbit: No Season.
  • Vermin: No Season.

Weapons required:

  • Shotgun.
    Rifle for foxes.

How to get there:
It is near the A499. Go into village of Llanaelhaern B4417 and pass row council houses immediate turn into farm drive its only small. If you go back to cross road before council houses the shoot is on the main mountain side and down to the A499 it is advised to walk the ridge in daylight hours for safety reasons.

Go on your own steam but book with us first as we have limited guns and ensure you inform farmer park in yard and leave note if farmer not present.
